Valhalla 10 : Collision

{xtypo_dropcap}V{/xtypo_dropcap}alhalla Fights brought a packed card to the Dulles Sportsplex on Saturday night. The doors opened at 6 and the fights were scheduled to start at 7. With the amount of people that showed up the fights had to start a little late. That was no problem there were plenty of vendors on hand including Chokem, the US Air Force several others and the band The Gypsy Sons.

Operation Octagon VI : Inceptum

{xtypo_dropcap}M{/xtypo_dropcap}arines put their combat skills to the test in a friendly contest during a mixed martial arts competition called Operation Octagon in Chantilly March 14.

Local martial arts schools sent their most talented fighters to compete against each other in a battle for titles, trophies and bragging rights.

Of the 34 fighters, there were two Marines who completely dominated the Octagon with jabs, hooks and roundhouses.

Cpl. Kelsey Cousino, member of the K-9 unit in Marine Helicopter Squadron – 1 here, and Sgt. Shurron Thompson, an instructor trainer at the Martial Arts Center of Excellence, both had matches that finished in less than two minutes.


MMA in the Valley XV

{xtypo_dropcap}S{/xtypo_dropcap}quared Circle Promotions along with the Valley Fight League put on a night of 11 amateur MMA fights at the Best Western in Winchester, VA. The card was packed with such hard hitters as Caleb Ball, Eli Garshnick, David Pope and many more. With all the action in the ring and the beautiful ring girls from Vixens this was an evening of greatness.
